What is an...?

amaryllis?

First right answer gets atleast 11 points.

What is an...?
AMARYLLIS plain and simple is part of The Belladonna Lily which is a bulbous plant
Reply:Amaryllis, the wanton country maid.

Nature Art disdaineth; her beauty is her own.

Her when we court and kiss, she cries: forsooth, let go!

But when we come where comfort is, she never will say no.

If I love Amaryllis, she gives me fruit and flowers;

But if we love these ladies, we must give golden showers.

Give them gold that sell love, give me the nut-brown lass,

Who when we court and kiss, she cries: forsooth, let go!

But when we come where comfort is, she never will say no.

These ladies must have pillows and beds by strangers wrought.

Give me a bower of willows, of moss and leaves unbought,

And fresh Amaryllis with milk and honey fed,

Who when we court and kiss, she cries: forsooth, let go!

But when we come where comfort is, she never will say no.
Reply:Amaryllis is a monotypic (only one species) genus of plant also known as the Belladonna Lily or naked ladies.
Reply:Very large blooms. With two flowers per succulent thick stem, Amaryllis is a dramatic addition to any table. They can be featured in bouquets, though their size limits the number that cna be used. Colors include white, red, pink, orange and salmon. Also available in striped varieties. Year-round availability.
Reply:Amaryllis is not only a flowering plant but also a woman's name, like Rose, Lily, and Violet. That is what Mommy of 2 was "going on about".
